The University Committee for Scientific Promotion at the University of Technology decided with the approval of the President of the University of Technology Prof.Amin Dway Thamer. Mohammed Abdul Hussein Mohammed from the Department of Materials Engineering from the rank of Lecturer to the rank of Assistant Professor. 

A graduate student from the Department of Engineering Control and Systems, Mechatronics branch at the University of Technology Mustafa Sami Ali received a master's degree for his thesis entitled "Microcontroller-like a relative-foggy integration of the speed of the three-phase induction engine using the Kalman filter estimator

In this thesis, the researcher addressed the three-phase induction engine as the two working masses in the field of industry today because of its strength, small size, low cost, small maintenance and other features that give preference to other engines. For this purpose, different strategies for speed control were introduced. For a three-phase engine and its simulators using transformations (dp) in a fixed reference frame.

Petroleum Technology Department at the University of Technology in cooperation with the Society of International Oil Engineers (SPE) organized a seminar  about "Basic of drilling technology" in the presence of the Head of Department, Dr. Aqeel Shaker Al-Adly and the Head of the Branch, Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Ramadan. By Engineer Ibrahim Hassan Abdul Hadi of the Basra Oil Company - Northern Rumaila And talked about the basics of drilling, which consists of towers and parts of drilling and also explained the importance of drilling in the oil industry and how to develop.

 At the conclusion of the lecture, the lecturer was honored with a letter of thanks and appreciation by the head of the department in appreciation of the efforts exerted.

A graduate student from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology Qusay Moayad Salman received a master's degree with a very good grade for his thesis:

Experimental Investigation for Removal of Pollutants from Vehicle Exhaust Using Non-Thermal Plasma

(Scientific investigation of the removal of pollutants from automobile exhausts using non-thermal plasma)

The study included the practical verification of the use of non-thermal plasma theory for the removal of toxic gases emitted from vehicles. A reactor that uses non-thermocouple plasma theory was built in the form of a cylindrical tube made of pyrex. The gases entering the reactor were examined by a gas analyzer These gases from the entry and exit of the reactor and in the end have been obtained rates of removal of convergent gases, but in different cases other.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Dr. Taleb Zagir Faraj of the University of Technology, Electromechanical Engineering Department, and the membership of Prof. Dr. Salam Hadi Hussain from the University of Babylon, Faculty of Engineering - Musayyib, AD Sherine Faeq Abdul Karim, Dr. Aseel Abdel Baqi Abdel Razzaq and AA Ashwaq Qassem Hamid supervisors and all of them from the University of Technology Department of Electromechanical Engineering.

The students of Department of Control and Systems Engineering make a scientific visit to the Engineering Department of Mechatronics and Computer Engineering at the General Company for Electronic Systems accompanied by the Head of the Department of Mechatronics Engineering.
