The Department of Laser Engineering and Optical Electronics at The University of Technology grant  the student Ban Kareem Hadi for its tagged letter (Raman broad-based fiber amplifier building on a bi-directional fiber model).

This message provides an investigation, optimizing pumping power and evaluating the performance of the separated Raman amplifier using the OptiSystem-10 simulator and two different amplifier designs: the SP-DRFA amplifier and the DP-DRFA amplifier.

The researcher adopted the bi-directional fiber model in this work as a Raman medium for profit at different lengths and also using different pumping directions. A comparison was made between the types of designs used (SP-DRFA) and (DP-DRFA) in the case of the use of optimal pumping power. The performance parameters of these amplifiers were analyzed in terms of average gain, amplitude range within 3 dB change, SBS propagation effect, and NFav.

The discussion committee consisted of Prof. Raad Sami Fayyad from Nahrain University as President,  Prof.Dr. Mazen Ali Abdel-Ali from Mustansiriya University, Prof.Dr. Makram Abdulmutallab Fakhri,  as a members, Prof. Dr. Salahuddin Adnan, and Prof. Dr. Abdullah Khudair, From the Technological University.

Suha Mohammed Saleh, from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology, grant her master's thesis (Discovering the task area using non-vertically and vertically-aligned characterization algorithms) at  the discussion hall in the department.

This is why many of the extraction algorithms have been designed. One of the algorithms used for extraction is an algorithm that is used for the extraction process. SIFT is an efficient and efficient algorithm for extracting and characterizing areas of interest because it operates on a wide range of points. However, this algorithm is very slow to implement.

The proposed system is a system used to extract and identify abnormal areas in the medical image. It was evaluated based on the evaluation criteria used in the extraction, characterization and matching systems. Which is a measure of time and accuracy. A 100% accuracy was obtained, as all abnormal areas were fully detected with misrepresentation in the image. The proposed system also reduced the time taken to implement the SIFT algorithm.

The discussion committee consisted of  Prof.Dr. Mayad Emad El-Din as President. Assist.prof.Dr. Rana Farid and Prof. Dr. Sameer Issa from the Department of Computer Science, Al-Rafidain College.

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology held its scientific symposium entitled "Development of Engineering Education through the Problems of the Field of Work in the Curricula of Energy Engineering and Renewable Energies" in the presence of the Administrative Assistant of the President of the University of Technology Asst.Prof.Dr. Sami Abu Al-Non and the head of Electromechanical Engineering Asst.Prof.Dr. Hisham Saleem , number of members of the Baghdad Provincial Council, representatives of the Ministry of Electricity and a number of department heads, professors and university professors. The head of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering, Dr. Hisham Salim Enyed, gave a welcoming speech in which he thanked the attendees for the invitation. He expressed his hope that this symposium will lead to several recommendations that will contribute to solving many of the problems in the electric power stations and introducing them in the school curriculum Energy and Renewable Energy Engineering. The session was chaired by Asst.Prof.Dr. Muhannad Zaidan Khalifa and Lect.Dr. Ahlam Luaibi as its reporter and it was of three lecturers. The first was given by Prof. Dr. Jalal Mohamed Jalil, a lecturer at the department, entitled "Curriculum development by vaccinating them with field problems." The second lecture was given by the assistant director General Department of Planning and Studies Department of Renewable Energy in the Ministry of Electricity Dr. Eng. Qassem Kazem Hanihan on models of problems of power plants while the third lecture was given by the head of the training and development at the Wasit power station Professor Hisham Majid Adai entitled models of problems of steam stations. The scientific symposium ended with several recommendations, the most important of which is the start of the implementation of the project of vaccinating the methods of the branch of energy engineering and renewable energies with the problems of the field of work from different generation stations with the Ministry of Electricity and expanding the project to include the other sections of the department with the various ministries of the state.
