The student Adnan Taher from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Technology received a master's degree for his thesis (intelligent system for controlling the storage based on wireless sensor networks) with a very good grade.

 The researcher emphasized in his letter the design of a system of control and control of intelligent and efficient elements of the demand stock dependent on the wireless sensor networks. The system consists of three main systems: a security system, a safety system, and a system to re-strengthen the stock. Each system relies on a number of subsystems, as the security system depends on the system of detection of people, and the system of detecting a situation inside the building. The safety system consists of vibration detection system, early detection of fire, and moisture detection system. The stock enhancement system is based on the material requirements planning system, which was adopted as a knowledge base for the proposed smart system. It relies on the application of two batch size techniques, L4L and S-M, to determine the quantities and timing of re-reinforcement orders.

The researcher developed the two techniques in the planning stage of the proposed system based on the wireless sensor network and the logic to generate the parental elements within levels (0) and (1) of the list of the technical structure of the product, while the rest of the systems were developed in the production stage. The stellar pattern was adopted in the design of the wireless sensor network, which can be built according to two structures using an AP or WLAN card installed on a server that is used as a central management and control station. An integrated hybrid algorithm was developed between the wireless sensor network and the batch size determination techniques used.

A delegation from the Military Industries Company visited the Department of Production Engineering and Minerals at the University of Technology on Tuesday, 26/12/2017, as part of the mechanism of cooperation between the two parties.

The head of the department, Dr. Ali Abbar, received the members of the delegation in the presence of scientific assistants, Prof.Ass.Dr.Assil Hamad Abd and the administrative , Lec. Bahaa Sami Mahdi, Head of Mining and Extraction Engineering Department, Prof.Ass. Sami Ibrahim, Hussain.

The importance of the joint cooperation between the two sides in terms of exchange of experiences and also the contribution of the department in the military industries company in possible solutions through scientific consultations, as well as benefiting from the laboratories of the department of engineering production and minerals in the scientific research of the company. The head of the department appreciated the important role played by the Military Industries Company Especially in this situation, which requires mobilization of energies and efforts to support the army and security forces at all levels.

Nano-Technology Center Organizes symposium

Nano-technology center in cooperation with energy technology and renewable energy and environmental research centers organized a symposium for scientific research and international conference participation.

The symposium includes two sessions and seven lectures concentrate on the outputs of a scientific research and the significant of scientific participation in the international conference and how to develop them in sober scientific researchThe symposium also includes the most important requirements for sober scientific publication and avoids plagiarism and also to learn how to deal with the impact factor Thomson-Reuters in various disciplines, and also includes the role of scientific research in raising the quality scale and classification of universities and how to find sources to fund the scientific research.

Enhanced electrostatic deposition to remove oil from water by magnetic nanoparticles

 Al Khwarizmi Hall in the presence of the Head of Chemical Engineering Department. Jamal Mouna Ali Al-Rubaie, scientific and administrative assistants, a number of branch heads, and a number of teachers and employees of the department and the university.

The field of environmental treatment provides nanoparticles with the ability to remove pollutants efficiently. The use of nanomaterials for iron oxide or magnetic nanoparticles has been of great interest due to its unique characteristics such as bio-compatibility, small size and high surface area. However, there is a small number of research that has focused on promoting electrophoresis by using simple nanoparticles that do not contain any modification or coating.

The study investigated the feasibility of adding magnetic nanoparticles to the electrophoresis process in the removal process. Magnetic nanoparticles were used for commercial magnetite and were examined using XRD and FT-IR. The average particle size was 50 nm.

Lecturer Headed Master Examiner Committee

Prof.Dr.Hanan Akar, a lecturer at Electricity Engineering Department, has headed an examiner committee in the Iraqi Commission for Computer and information – information institute for high studies to discuss the thesis of high studies' student (Shams Diyaa Kareem) titled "Design and Execute a Complete MOOCS System".

The researcher in this thesis examined the design and applying an electronic and educational system to serve the student by posting lectures on the site and using special smart phones strategies.
