Within the activities of scientific and cultural activity for the first semester of the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology for the academic year 2017-2018, the department held a lecture titled (Software Defined Radio New Trend in Implementation of the Advanced Systems) on the Dijla hall with the presence of the head of the electrical engineering department, Assist.Prof. Dari Yousef Mahmoud, and the scientific and Administrative Deputy Assist. Prof. Abbas Husain Issa and the director, Dr. Kanaan Ali Jalal, the heads of the scientific branches and a number of the teachers of the department and its staff.

The seminar focused(SDR) on the new technologies that are unique in terms of flexibility, accuracy, small size and cost, through which the generations of modern communications systems that will be developed in the future (G4, G5, G6 and G7) On the use of software and loaded into information processing units.

The lecture was given by Assist.Prof. Hadi Tarash Zebun , Lecturer.  Jaber Hamid Majid and Lecturer Assist.Muhannad Yousef Mohsen.

Educational Supervision committees' meeting

Concerning in educational and psychological guidance and its impact on students to solve their problems, the committees of educational supervision at Electromechanical Engineering Department held several meetings in all branches of the department.The meeting was held in the attendance of the head of electromechanical engineering department Asst.Prof.Dr. Hisham Aneed, and the heads of the branches as well as a meeting was held for the members of educational supervision committee of energy and renewable energy engineering branch. These meetings dealt with the importance and role of the faculty member in educational and psychological guidance, the need to activate meetings with students, study their problems and find appropriate solutions, and highlighted the curricula and methods of teaching and continuous contact and interaction with students to promote the educational and educational process.

Lecturer participates in scientific conference

Asst.Prof.Dr. Aseel Basim , a lecturer at the materials engineering department in the university of technology, has participated in  " Advanced science is a foundation for construction and development" conference which was held in Al-Nahrain university.The lecturer gained a participation certificate from the dean of the Science collage at Al-Nahrain University as appreciation of her participation by a research "Measurement of hardness of epoxy-reinforced glass fibers plus nanomaterials and micronutrients for TiO2"

Information technology center ends course

The Information Technology Center at the University of Technology ended a course on "civil servant promotion" with the participation of trainees representing the state ministries State. The course included several items including operating system, word processor program, table processor program, presentation program, introduction to the Internet, how to access sites browse and transfer information.The course aims at giving basic principles to identify the components of computers and the operating system as well as clarification of some general and important software that the user  must be familiar with it to be able to deal with the computer.

The Center for Continuing Education at the University of Technology organized a course on the concept of management in career work with the participation of trainees representing the Information and Communication Institute and the Petroleum Projects Company.The course aims at preparing successful administrative staff in the management of the various offices of all state institutions.
The course dealt with the concept of management and the art of administration and presented a detailed explanation of its basic elements such as planning, organization, direction and control, equal power and responsibility, centralization and decentralization, clarification of the management process, and the important guidelines to be followed in dealing with different staff situations.
