The Department of Communication Engineering at the University of Technology has organized the scientific symposium (Internet of things and communications) on the conference hall in the Control and Systems Engineering department.

The seminar included two sessions the first one including one lecture under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Hanan Abdul Rida Akkar from the Department of Electrical Engineering and its Coordinator Prof. Dr. Atheer Alaa Sabri, the lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Jamal Mohammed Rasool, who discussed the subject "Internet things and their applications''

The second session was chaired by Prof. Dr. Rashid Hameed Mutar from the Department of Electrical Engineering and its Coordinator, Assist.Prof. Zainab Nasser Jameel, from the Department of Communications Engineering, and included two lectures, the first was entitled (fiber optic networks of Internet things) delivered by Assist.Prof.Ali youssif fatah from the Department of Communications Engineering, the second lecture (collateral damage to wireless communication equipment for Internet objects and its impact on human health) was delivered byAssist. Dr. Rifaat Taleb Hussain from the Department of Communications Engineering.

Dr. Imad Hussain Marza Al Husseini, Head of Communication Engineering, said: "The aim of this symposium is to highlight the importance of the Internet in everyday life, both practical and scientific, as well as the role of the Internet in education of university

He pointed out that the transformation from human activity in its traditional form to electronic has become a necessary necessity that should be pursued by any modern institution that wants to keep abreast of the rapid and astonishing development, pointing to the importance of the information revolution and continuous progress in communication systems, the Internet, cloud computing and mobile communication technologies.

The symposium came out with the following important recommendations: the development of university education and administrative work through the optimal use of information and communication technology based on electronic universities and smart classrooms, and restrict the installation of towers for telephone stations near high density residential areas, schools, stadiums and hospitals

At the end, the head of the department distributed of appreciation certificates to the attendees and contributors who success the scientific symposium.

A research staff from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Technology, namely, Dr. Laith Jaafar Habib, Assis.Dr. Ahmed Abdel Rahman Al-Bayrouti, and Assis.Dr. Muwafaq Ali Tawfiq, published a scientific research on the thermal effects on the piston loading chair Axial diffraction of diesel machine).

The results of the dynamic loading, axial diffraction and axial position, as well as the state of the fixed rotation position, axial diffraction and axial position, showed that by increasing the temperature, the maximum pressure and load capacity would decrease. It was also found that for special conditions of the work of the load chair for the dynamic load and axial diffraction mode, the pressure increases when the temperature or temperature increases. The results show that the axial diffraction will decrease as the temperature or temperature increases. Finally, For axial rotation and for different temperature conditions, the maximum pressure values, axial diffraction and load absorption capacity will increase but the load absorption capacity decreases at a few axial diffraction degrees and then begins to increase at the high degree of axial diffraction.

Within the activities of the scientific and cultural activity for the first semester of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology for the academic year 2017-2018, the student of the third phase of the Department of Process Engineering Abeer Jasim Hamadi lecture entitled:

((            ))

on the hall of al-Khwarizmi in the section.

She explained that this study was conducted using a cheap and available adsorption plant is a plant to remove hexagonal ion water from industrial waste water. We found that the material used was of acceptable efficiency when used for continuous adsorption in columns with fixed fillings. In the study, a comparison of the adsorption capacity of different plants was carried out by different granules. The experiments were carried out in a column of diameter (6cm) and a high fill of (40 cm) The rate of flow of the liquid through the adsorption medium (0.5 l / min) Of the hexagonal chromium ion decreases while the adsorption capacity (removal ratio) increases with the decrease of the chromium ion concentration of the hexagon in the primary solution inside.

The lecture was attended by the Head of Chemical Engineering Department. Jamal Manea Ali Al - Rubaie

Assistants and heads of branches, and a number of Lectures  and staff members of the department.
