Electromechanical Engineering Department at the UOT awarded the student Muhammad Nasser Muhammad Hamad MSc degree in electromechanical systems engineering for his thesis:
Optimal Design of Radial Active Magnetic Bearing used in electromechanical machines
The improvement was made on the specific design by reducing its size, weight and complexities, and the (ensys) program was used to design the model and improve it by the genetic algorithm method, and after making the improvement on the design, it was practically manufactured using magnetic materials and an integrated control system.
An improved and better model than the previous one was obtained, with a higher magnetic force, which made the rotating part in the middle and prevents friction between the bearing parts and dampens the vibrations occurring in it.
