Materials Engineering Department at University of Technology grants MSC to the student Rasha AbdulHassan for her thesis "Adopting Electrostatic Spray Method to Prepare Coated Layer of Composite Materials"

The thesis aimed at using polymethyl methacrylate powder to prepare biocomposite coatings by electrostatic dry spraying on 316L stainless steel as substances. Different weight ratios were mixed from the dry powders to form a compound mixture consists (5, 10, 15, 20) wt% of aluminum oxide and titanium oxide with (95, 90, 85 and 80 wt. %) polymethyl as a base material. The added ceramic powders were studies in four groups A B C D and samples from each one was treated at a temperature of 140c for an hour.

Coating surface shapes, grain size, chemical compositions, Vickers' micro-hardness, adhesion, ion release, infrared examination and differential scanning calorimeter examination of the polymermic coating layers were diagnosed.
