Control and Systems Engineering Department discusse MSc thesis

Control and Systems Engineering Department UOT discussed MSc thesis tagged (Automatic Control on the Electromagnetic Radiation Inside a Microwave Oven) in the presence of the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies Prof. Dr. Haider Abdel-Dahd and Assist. Prof. Dr. Azad Rahim Karim, Head of the Department and the Head Deputy for Scientific Affairs of the Department and Graduate Studies Prof. Muhammad Yusuf Hassan.

Farah Amer Thamer’s thesis in Mechatronics Engineering aims that regular microwave ovens are not supported with complex features to detect factors such as temperature, weight and abundance of loaded materials due to the depletion or change in the state of materials inside the microwave oven, so the goals of this research are to measure the electromagnetic capacity without placing equipment inside Microwave oven The research methodology relies on building an automatic control system that links the microwave oven with a spectrum analyzer and a computer device through physical and software media.

The results showed that energy leakage measurements of electromagnetic waves emitted from empty microwave ovens located in the cm2 room () that humans are allowed to be exposed to.

The research results proved the success of the research methodology, the computer program, the electrical circuit and the control system to automatically turn off the microwave oven.

The discussion committee consisted of:-

  • Prof. Dr. Firas Abdul Razzaq / the head
  • Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Kazem Hamzah / Member
  • Prof. Dr. Muhammad Sabry Salim / Member
  • Haitham Bahnam Al-Wakeel / Member
  • Prof. Taghreed Muhammad Muhammad Reza supervisor.
