The Department of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations at the University of Technology held a workshop in cooperation with a professional organization for Better Iraq to discuss quality standards for laboratories at Al-Kindi Hall in the Department of Electromechanical Engineering.

Representatives of the organization gave lectures on the medical devices and their applications, as well as addressing the most important standards of quality of the detectives and their applicability at the University of Technology.

Laser and Optical Department of Electronics at the University of Technology held an introductory workshop on laser science for students of the fourth stage and alumni. The basic concepts in laser science, which include the principles of operation, types and methods of  laser formation and its uses in various industrial and medical fields, have been discussed.

The workshop included the most important features, namely high intensity, high accuracy and accurate temporal wavelength. These features give the laser beam the possibility of strict and unique application in the fields of industrial and medical rare as well as military as well as the high potential in the field of communication and accurate and long-range and large capacities in storage and loading information and images High.

The Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Technology held a scientific symposium titled "e-learning and its role in the development of the educational process" on Thursday 4/1/2018 at the conference hall in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering Department  in the presence of the President of the University of Technology Prof.Dr Amin Douai Thamir  and the administrative affairs deputy  Prof.Dr. Alaa Abdel-Hassan Attieh and heads of department,  Centers Mangers  , university professors and staff.

The President of the University delivered a speech in which he said: I would like to thank the  Electrical Engineering Department for setting up this seminar  about E-learning, and university plans to be a pioneer in this field and these steps started from some departments within the university and we have merged some centers.  Ava Sina Center specialized in this field as well as the Department of Electrical Engineering is also effective in this field, and the importance of E-learning as it became a language in most international universities and that the documentation of things and the development of the act must be from the University of Technology being a specialized university which started in this procedure as a transfer of the responsibility of all the experiences of the world to the university and that the world has become a small village because of the recent developments that could transfer any experience via the Internet.

The head of the electrical engineering department stressed that the continuous work and efforts exerted by the E-learning team in the department and in collaboration with the information technology center and the great support of the university president and the scientific assistant for the achievement of the main objectives which under the vision and mission of the department in achieving international quality standards.

The seminar aimed at introducing the new information technology and benefiting from it in developing the educational process and informing the scientific departments at the university of technology about the experience of the electrical engineering department in applying E-learning and preparing the academic cadres at the university of technology to apply the E-learning skills to improve the traditional teaching methods Google Apps for Education available for free to start an E-learning project at the University  of  Technology.

The symposium included a session chaired by Prof.Dr. Abbas Hussein Issa and its Deputy , Dr. Wissam Hassan Ali. The lecture included a lecture about  e-learning based on the Google Education Platform by Lect. Uday Ali Ahmed, followed by an applied workshop on the use of the Google system for electronic classrooms represented Of the working team: Prof. Abbas Hussain Issa, Assist.Prof. Ivan Abdul Zahra Hashem, Assist.Prof Uday Ali Ahmad, Wessam Ali Hassan, Lect. Hussein Khudair Sayed and Engineer Ali Faris Abdul Latif.

The Department of Electrical Engineering won the title of the University of Technology for students of handball after beating the team of the Technology with a penalty kick penalty for one goal of non-response after the original time ended with seven goals each in the final game on the third Wednesday of December 2018 at the Tartan Stadium in the presence of the President of the University, Prof. Dr. Amyn Dway Thamer,  and  Deputy  of Scientific Assistant the University, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan Attieh and the heads of the Department of Petroleum Technology, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al Jawad and Electricity.

The engineering and production team came in third place and the mechanical engineering department was third

The President of the University distributed prizes to the judges of the tournament Abdullah Adnan, Basil Hassan, Ali Fadel and Dr. Mona Taha, as well as individual and premium awards to the top players in the tournament.

The Department of Media and Public Relations at the University of Technology held a course on the efficiency of media communication in cooperation with the Atheer Al Amal Foundation for Training and Development in the presence of the staff of the Media Department and members of the association in the university departments and centers for 3-4 / 1/2018 at the of Alsalam Hall in the Center of Continuing Education.

The first day of the course included a lecture delivered by Dr. Ali Abbas from Ather Al Amal Foundation / State of Lebanon, in which he addressed the importance of the media role and communication with the public, as well as the human patterns in receiving information and how to improve these patterns. In human consciousness and unconsciousness.

The second day focused on the importance of educational communication through the media, and the importance of the role of the department in highlighting the achievements of the university and raising its international classification, as well as the basics of writing the press according to the standards of writing the educational news and requirements.

At the end of the session, the discussion was opened with the members of the association in the institutions of the university in order to find out the obstacles facing them and find suitable solutions for them, and presented a detailed classification in the number of news published on the university's website.
