The Department of Architecture at the University of Technology participated in a workshop on the cultural exchange of Iraqi youth leaders, IYLEP, which was held in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering.

The workshop includes a lecture help in developing the youth and their participation in the volunteer work as well as their leadership ability and communicative skills in community contributions.

The lecture was presented by employees in the American Embassy. 

Siraj Jabbar Kazim, a student from the Department of Architecture at the University of Technology got a master's degree in excellence for his thesis titled "  "The researcher concluded that the current era is concerned with the use of digital technology and its technologies as a distinguishing feature of it, which is invested by man in his quest for knowledge and science in unlimited simulation in virtual worlds to organize his environment and his real world in an integrated and harmonious manner whose effects were reflected in all fields of knowledge Including architecture. Since the end of the last century, there has been a qualitative shift and a radical change due to progress in knowledge, science and technology, as well as the connection of contemporary design and architectural concepts.The discussion committee is chaired by Prof.Dr. Hamza Salman, and the membrane of Asst.Prof.Dr.Anwar Subhi, Lect.Dr.Berzat Qasim and Asst.Prof.Dr.Basim Hassan as a member and supervisor.

The Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the University of Technology held a seminar held by Dr. Qusay Khalid Mohammed in Al-Kindi Hall after returning from the United States to complete his scientific assignment at the State University of New Mexico for his research titled (Damage of the cumulative hills of aluminum alloy 7075 Alumina AL2O3 ).
The study included the use of Stir Casting method to obtain composite material with 0.3%, 0.5% and 0.7% mixing ratios. The experiments showed that 0.3% gave the best results in terms of the mechanical properties of the alloy and the expected age of the mixture.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Aviation at the University of Mexico praised the efforts of the researcher and his efforts to make use of the university laboratories and their experience in the field of specialization and promised more future cooperation between their university and the university of technology.

Prof. Qusai Fadel Abdul Hamid, Director of the Technology Research Unit of the University of Technology, published a paper entitled "The use of vacuum distillation with polypropylene films for desalination of high salinity water" in the journal "Chemical Engineering processing: Process intensification" Global impact coefficient 2.234 for 2017.
The study investigated the design of the membrane distillation system using a poly-protein membrane to desalinate high salinity water. The operational conditions were studied and the optimal conditions were determined by the temperature of the flow rate of saline concentration and the variable was determined on the performance of a chapter compared with a large number of global researches in the same field .

The Center for Continuing Education at the University of Technology concluded a course on ISO 2015: 9001 new issue on Wednesday 1/11/2017 with the participation of 26 trainees representing the Ministry of Oil and Petroleum Products Distribution Company.
The course curriculum includes the specifications and quality management systems, the requirements of the new standard, the basic elements of the specification and the explanation of the items of the quality management system. The lectures were given by a group of quality experts.
