Prof. Qusai Fadel Abdul Hamid, Director of the Technology Research Unit of the University of Technology, published a paper entitled "The use of vacuum distillation with polypropylene films for desalination of high salinity water" in the journal "Chemical Engineering processing: Process intensification" Global impact coefficient 2.234 for 2017.
The study investigated the design of the membrane distillation system using a poly-protein membrane to desalinate high salinity water. The operational conditions were studied and the optimal conditions were determined by the temperature of the flow rate of saline concentration and the variable was determined on the performance of a chapter compared with a large number of global researches in the same field .
