Civil Engineering Department organizes bullying and its negative effects on society awareness lecture

The Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Technology organized an awareness lecture on bullying and its negative effects on society, delivered by Prof. Dr. Basma Khalil Namiq from the College of Political Science at the University of Baghdad, in the presence of lecturer’s staff and members of the department.

The lecture discussed the concept of bullying, its victims, some of its manifestations and causes, and finding the necessary solutions and treatments to reduce this bad phenomenon and warn of its dangers.

The lecture explained that the impact of bullying on the student appears through his failure to adapt to the university environment and causes anxiety and depression and affects his academic and career future. To reduce the phenomenon of bullying, control mechanisms must be established within universities and awareness campaigns to identify bullying and organize cultural and cognitive exchange by promoting a culture that accepts others.
