Architectural Engineering Department organize a travel to archaeological landmarks in Baghdad
Architecture Department at the University of Technology, in cooperation with the management of the Iraqi Antiquities and Heritage Preservation Team, and under the supervision of faculty staff members, organized a scientific and cultural travel for (sophomore & senior) students, which included landmarks of Islamic architecture in: The Abbasid Palace, Al-Mustansiriyah School, the House of Wisdom, and the Governor’s Palace on Tigris banks. This scientific trip comes within the department’s activities to expand students’ information about the subject of building installation, where the students were introduced to the subject of roofing and the local building style using local materials, in addition to supporting the subject of Islamic architecture, as the students were informed of the foundations and features of the Abbasid Islamic style and its detailed foundations.
