Computer Science Department organize a workshop about “Green AI”

Computer Science Department at the University of Technology organized the workshop entitled “Green AI”, included two lectures delivered by Prof. Dr. Hanaa Mohsen Ahmed and lec. Dr. Nada Hussein. It was attended by Scientific Deputy, Prof, Dr. Abeer Tariq Mawlood, Administrative Deputy, Prof. Dr. Bashar Saadoun Mahdi, and students and faculty of the Department.

The workshop discussed the techniques, algorithms, programs and systems related to artificial intelligence (AI) that help achieve sustainable development goals and introduce the goal of Green AI, which reduces energy use and heat emissions. The most important applications are its use in agriculture field, water distribution and improving fertilizers until there is sustainable agriculture and it can be used in automating recycling and waste so that it becomes automatic as it enters traffic and circles, in addition to its benefits, it reduces energy consumption and global warming emissions.

The workshop concluded with granted two certificates of appreciation for the lecturers in gratitude of their efforts in delivering the lecture.
