Materials Engineering Department organize a scientific trip for its students to Ibn Alqif Hospital - Baghdad Center of Artificial Limbs 

Materials Engineering Department, Biomaterials and Prosthesis Branch at the University of Technology, organized a scientific field trip to Ibn Alqaf Hospital - Baghdad Center of Artificial Limbs, headed by the head of the branch, Prof. Dr. Sarmad Imad, staff faculty members, and students of the branch.

This trip was part of extracurricular activities to enhance the applied and practical aspect of the students.

The delegation was received by the manager of the center, Mr. Salih Burhan, who provided an explanation and presentation of all the practical details, along with a group of specialized doctors.

The trip included getting acquainted with all the sections of the center and the stages that people with special needs (amputation) go through, including diagnosis, examination, determining the condition, then the manufacturing processes for the prosthetic limb. The materials involved in the manufacture of prosthetic limbs and their specifications were identified, in addition to the obstacles and problems that could arise during the manufacturing process.
