Computer Science Department hold a workshop about digital transformation

Computer Science Department at the University of Technology held a scientific workshop on “Digital Transformation as a Path to Achieving Sustainable Development Goals”, in the presence of the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kahdim Farhan, lecturers and students of the department and the university.

The workshop delivered by Assist. Prof. Dr. Suhair Mohammed Zaki, and it included defining the concept of sustainable development, its goals, digital transformation, and its relationship with sustainable development and challenges.

Sustainable development is an international economic and social term used by the United Nations to draw a map for environmental, social and economic development at the global level. Sustainable development has (17) goals approved by the United Nations on September 15, 2015. Each goal has an indicator. When the indicator is completed, the goal is achieved, and among these goals is the elimination of poverty and hunger,  health Education Quality, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitation, Affordable Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry, Innovation and Structures, Reducing Inequality, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Life Below Water, Life in Righteousness, peace, justice and institutions, establishing partnerships to achieve goals.

Digital transformation means a radical change in the conversion from manual and analog processes to digital processes in every aspect of business to create better results. Digital transformation gradually transforms governments and companies and makes them more competitive, as well as providing many opportunities for economic growth and prosperity.

In conclusion, the head of the department, Prof. Dr. Alaa Kahdim Farhan, awarded the lecturer a certificate of appreciation in gratitude of her efforts.
