The Computer Engineering Department hosts a lecture entitled (Introduction to the field of deep learning) 

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Muhammad Al-Ghabban, and under the supervision of the Office of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, the Computer Engineering Department at the University of Technology hosted a lecture entitled (Introduction to the field of deep learning) delivered by Prof. Dr. Muhammad Reza Faizi from Tabriz University, in the presence of Department Head A. Dr.. Hassan Jalil Hassan, branch heads, assistants, professors, affiliates, and students of the university in the department’s conference hall.

The lecture included a definition of deep learning as “a branch of artificial intelligence that focuses on building machine learning models inspired by the way the human brain works, in order to analyze data, gain knowledge, and make decisions.” Deep learning relies on multi-layer artificial neural networks known as deep neural networks.

In addition to the wide and varied applications that deep learning includes, including providing personal recommendations, image and video recognition, language translation, search engine optimization, speech recognition, disease diagnosis, prediction of human behavior, and many other applications in fields such as medicine and manufacturing. , marketing, and finance.

The lecturer pointed out that deep learning provides benefits such as analyzing big data and improving performance in areas such as image recognition and predictions in various fields, but it may face challenges such as systems relying on big data and privacy and security issues. Some real-world applications that rely on deep learning were reviewed, such as Coloring black and white images, automatic translation of images, and many other applications.

The lecture concluded by opening the door to dialogue and discussion for attendees to ask questions and inquiries.
