The Department of Oil and Gas Engineering organizes a scientific visit to the southern East Baghdad field (Nahrawan - Iraqi Drilling Company lDC)
Based on the principle of joint scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities and oil companies, which in turn works to enhance students’ information and familiarize them with the field work environment, and under the supervision of the head of the department, Professor Dr. Fadel Sarhan Kazem, the Department of Oil and Gas Engineering at the University of Technology organized a scientific visit for third-year students to the southern field of East Baghdad. Accompanied by the head of the branch, Dr. Imad Abdel Hussein Fakher, and a number of department lecturers.
This visit was supervised by Chief Engineer Hassanein Fadel Eidan - Director of the Fourth Drilling and Reclamation Department, where the delegation of the Oil and Gas Engineering Department was received by the Deputy Director of the Drilling Department and the Drilling and Reclamation Division Officer - Assistant Chief Engineer Ammar Ali Arif and Technical Director Ali Hussein Ahmed - Drilling Rig Officer. IDC-36 and Assistant Chief Engineer Mustafa Salah Mahdi - IDC-36 site engineer.
During the visit, a presentation was given to the visiting delegation by Engineer Orf Aktham Abdul Latif - the rig’s site engineer. The presentation included an overview of the Iraqi Drilling Company, its achievements during the past years and its development plans. The parts and type of the IDC-36 drilling rig, the modern techniques used in drilling, and the time period for drilling were also explained. Wells by the company.
The students were divided into 5 groups to see the Drilling Clays and Drilling Equipment Department, the Electrical Department, the Control Department, the Mechanics Department, and the Drilling Platform. The students were accompanied by M.R. Engineers Ammar Ali Arif, Technical Director Ali Hussein Ahmed, and M.R. Engineers Alaa Abdel Hussein Nour - Fluids Supervisor. Drilling and senior engineer Ali Muhammad Khalaf - responsible for electrical maintenance of the drilling rig, and senior engineer Abdel-Muhaimin Adel Abd - responsible for mechanical maintenance of the drilling rig. Engineers Mustafa Salah Mahdi accompanied the teaching staff on a tour around the drilling rig and drilling rigs to inform them of the latest developments in the work of the drilling rig. .
For his part, the head of the Petroleum Engineering Branch, Dr. Imad Abdul Hussein, thanked and appreciated the Iraqi Drilling Company for their contribution to the success of this scientific trip and their constant support for the department’s students.
