 A lecturer at the University of Technology get second place in Iraqi science Day competition

Assist. Lec. Dr. Saad Mahmoud Ali, the head of biomechanics branch in Biomedical Engineering Department at the University of Technology, won second place for the award of supervising the engineering graduation project at public and private universities in the Iraqi Science Day competition during the celebration held at the University of Baghdad in the presence of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Naeem Al-Aboudi, and the research was uploaded. Title (Design and Fabrication of improved below Knee prosthesis).

The project aims to design and manufacture a smart, low-cost lower limb prosthesis that is lightweight, durable, comfortable, and easily to put on and took off. Manufacturing operations were carried out using local materials at a nominal cost not exceeding 5% of the value of the imported limbs. Therefore, it is suitable for all patients and helps them quickly integrate, carry out their work, and exercise normally.

This was the result of perseverance and continuous scientific effort in the service of science and scientists, which culminated in obtaining the Iraqi Science Day Award.
