Technologists participate in the national training workshop on the Voices of Youth and Skills Education platforms

The University of Technology participated in the national training workshop organized by the Iraqi Ministry of Youth and Sports in cooperation with UNICEF on the Youth Voices platform (U-Report) and the Youth Skills Learning Platform (Learning Passport) in Erbil Governorate, with the participation of more than 100 trainees.

  The director of the Diwan Affairs Department, Zaid Riyad al-Anbari, who represented the university in the participation, said that the workshop aimed to expand the benefit of the two platforms and adopt its work within the universities by training the participants on how to promote the two platforms among university youth and urge them to participate in it because of the importance of these two platforms in listening to the opinions of young people and introducing them. Areas of interest to them, as well as providing them with the necessary skills that enable them to develop their capabilities in the labor market.

The three-day workshop included extensive lectures on the services provided by the Voices of Youth platform (U-Report) and the platform for teaching youth skills (Learning Passport) and mechanisms for joining them. The Director General of the Scientific Welfare Department at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Saad Aliwi, lectured. And members of the department,Mr.s Kawthar Ahmed and Mr. Mustafa Jamal, in addition to the UNICEF trainers, Mr. Nawar Al-Ani and Miss Israa Al-Jubouri.

The workshop came out with a number of proposals that would develop the services provided by the two platforms and increase the number of young people joining them.
