Electrical Eng. Dep. hold a workshop
Electrical Eng. Dep. at UOT held a workshop tagged (Power Transformer Parts and Assembly) in Degla hall, in the presence of the department head, Assist. Prof. Dr. Muntahder Sami Shaker and a number of faculty staff, engineers and technicians, and seniors of the Electrical Engineering Branch, as well as guests from outside the department and the University.
Lec. Dr. Aws Habib Muhammad Al-Taie , reviewed the parts of the power transformers commonly used in the national network in detail and the method of assembling them, with the presentation of pictures and videos related to this from the visit that the lecturer made with a number of graduate and preliminary students to the transformer inspection and repair workshop belonging to the the Ministry of Electricity.
The problems and malfunctions that affect transformers were discussed, in addition to reviewing the latest types of oils used globally in transformers, as a substitute for the mineral oils currently used.
This workshop is the first in a series of practical workshops held by the Electrical Engineering Department for the new academic year, which will develop skills and provide experience for cadres and students alike.
At the end of the lecture, the discussion was opened and questions and observations were answered.
