Participation of Prof. Dr. Al-Ghabban in a Workshop to Evaluate the E-learning Experience (Challenges and Solutions)

The President of U.O.T., Prof. Dr. Ahmed M. Hassan Al-Ghabban, participated in a workshop entitled (Evaluating the E-Learning Experience in Iraq - Challenges and Solutions), which was held by Commission of the Advisers in the Council of Ministers in cooperation with both Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Ministry of Education along with the Association of Wadi Al Rafedein. It was attended by local and international experts and specialists. Universities haveincreasingly accepted number of students of about 25% additional to their capacity of educational institutions in the academic year 2020-2021

 

The Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research confirmed that the usage of blended education helped Iraqi universities to increase the number of students studying there to one million and sixty-seven thousand.

During the inauguration of the workshop, the advisor of the Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Alaa Abdul Hassan, said that higher education institutions succeeded to cope withthe changes and did not lose sight of international competition and achieved 30% increase in the output of Iraqi scientific research registered and documented in the global Scopus container for the period from May 2020 until May 2021.

 

The coordinator of the Ministerial Team for Digital Learning in the Ministry of Education, Dr. Amer Salim Al-Amir, explained in his paper, in which he participated in the first session, that the success that was achieved in the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education was based on basic data, teachers, students, quality of curricula and good management in times of crisis. Where everyone joined forces to achieve a distinguished national project, without canceling or disrupting any stage of the university academic year, pointing out that UNESCO accompanied the steps achieved in the Iraqi experience in managing electronic educational attainment at the level of higher education in Iraq.

the workshop has discussed the experience of Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research and Ministry of Education and the international experiences in this field and the requirements of scientific stabilization. the workshop concluded its sessions with set of academic recommendations.
