Petroleum Technology Department holds a lecture about asphalt problems in the oil industry

Within the cultural season in Oil Technology Department, lect. Ali Anwar, gave a lecture entitled " asphalt problems in the oil industry", on Thursday, 6/2/2020, in the conference hall with the presence of number of lecturers and employees.The lecture included how to deal with the asphalt problem as it is one of the difficult problems, as interest in this aspect began thirty years ago by studying the behavior of asphalt in the balanced thermodynamic state and in the state of deposition in order to understand the causes of deposition and its diagnosis as this problem occurs during oil production and during treatment operations in different regions in The rock layers or in the pipes inside the well or in the surface structure due to the change in pressure, temperature and oil formation. Treatment of this problem will be either chemically by using solvents or mechanically or thermally to remove precipitated asphalt.
