Computer Sciences Dept. Discusses MSc. Thesis
A master thesis in Computer Science Dept. at U.O.T. discussed modifying the Ada boosting algorithm to improve the NIDS Network Intrusion Detection System by Ali Khaled Haloul.
The thesis aims to detect attacks in the web and focus on the attack of computer worms.
The study included the use of feature selection techniques with clustering algorithms for high-accuracy detection of attacks in web networks.
The researcher concluded that the proposed method of integrating feature-optimization methods leads to higher results in terms of accuracy and detection rate, with less time and a low error rate, and also the aggregation algorithms overcome individual classifiers and the svm classifier gives better results when used within the assembly classifiers than decision trees.
