Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering Department at UOT awards MSc. about (improving the properties of zirconia teeth using carbon dioxide lasers and some nonmaterials)
Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering Department at UOT awarded MSC. to a high-study student (Zahraa Amer Salman) in laser engineering field of her thesis tagged (improving the properties of zirconia teeth using carbon dioxide lasers and some nanomaterials) on Sunday 10-5-2020 in the hall of the Department.
The discussion committee consisted of:
1- Prof. Dr. Abbas Khamas Hussain, the head
2- Prof. Dr. Ayad Zwain Muhammad, member
3- Assiat. Prof. Dr. Basma Muhammad Ali, member
4- Prof. Dr. Kahdim Abdel Habeiter member / supervisor
5- Assist. Prof. Dr. Shehab Ahmed Zidan Member / Supervisor
Thesis included a study of carbon dioxide laser beam effect on the properties of glazed ceramic with nanomaterials and in different proportions of titanium, zincium and magnesium oxides in percentages (5% and 10%) and by laser capabilities (15,20,30W).
The study showed a clear improvement in the surface, mechanical and structural properties, which were shown by all laboratory tests. The best laser power was 15W, and the best added nanoxides were titanium oxide, at 5%
