Petroleum Technology Department discusses MSc. thesis about " extraction of improved oil from petroleum reservoirs using nanoparticle surface tension reducers”
Petroleum Technology Department discussed MSc. thesis for the student (Hajar A. Hammoud) on "extraction of improved oil from petroleum reservoirs using nanoparticle surface tension reducers" on Sunday, 16/2/2020 in the conference hall and in the presence of the head of the department, assist. Prof. Dr. Fadhel S. Kahdim with number of lecturers and engineers.
The researcher talked about the importance of nanomaterials in oil extraction, as silicon nan oxide powder was used as a nanomaterial and sodium dodecyl sulfate for reducing surface tension, the results showed that Do dodecyl sulfate can improve oil extraction by 15%, reduce surface tension to 25%, and reduce water production 90%.
The discussion committee included: -
- Prof. Dr. Ayad Abdul-Halim (president).
- Prof. Dr. Najm Al-Rubaie (member).
- Maysa Ali (member).
- Prof. Dr. Ramzi Zehoud Hamid (member and supervisor).
- Ali Khyoun Khalaf (member and supervisor).
