The Environmental Research Center holds a seminar on pollution of water resources

The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology held a seminar titled Pollution of Water Resources, during which the director of the center, Prof. Dr. Abdul Hamid Muhammad Jawad Al-Ubaidi, gave a lecture in which the most important key messages that characterized the reality of water resources in Iraq were kept, while the limited availability of water and its scarcity and inability to Achieving the current and future investment requirements, the reason for the increasing population, increasing water consumption and the growing technological capabilities that negatively affect the environment, which all led to the emergence of competition for water uses and environmental pollution.

At the end of the lecture, the most important research themes in the field of water resources were discussed, which can be adopted as research directions within the long-term scientific plan of the Environmental Research Center.

The university committee continues the work of auditing the procedures of the exam committees in the departments of electrical and mechanical engineering, computer and control and systems

Within the activities of the university committee consisting of the Department of Registration and Student Affairs, the Department of Quality Assurance and University Performance and the Department of Legal Affairs for auditing the procedures of exam committees in the scientific departments in documenting students ’scores in the records of major grades to ensure that accuracy and credibility standards are applied and the application of quality standards and instructions in them to preserve the rights of students University Committee Visiting the examination committee in the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the presence of the members of the examination committee and after completing the audit procedure, they expressed their sincere thanks for the comments made by the committee, which aimed at Access exam committees to work performance and accuracy in turn, thanked the Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Issam Younis  Prof. Sadd head of the department and the examination committee in the section on cooperation and good reception and accuracy in the implementation of all the required tasks that link the university to the top of the outstanding performance.The university committee also visited the exam committee in the computer engineering department, the control and systems engineering department and the mechanical engineering department in the presence of the members of the exam committeeProf. Suedd  Issam Younis, head of the department, the examination committee, and the director of the registration division in the department, on cooperation, good reception and accuracy in carrying out all the required tasks that bring the university to the top of the outstanding performance.

Teaching staff from the Department of Chemical Engineering participated in the workshop marked ((legal and technical procedures to ensure water security in Basra Governorate)) under the slogan ((In the blood of the martyrs we write the future of Iraq)), and they are each of Prof. Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed Prof.Dr. Khaled Ajami Suker Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Technology, which was held in cooperation with the South Refineries Company and under the supervision of the College of Engineering.

The workshop was attended by the President of Basra University, Prof. Dr. Saad Shaheen Hammadi, Eng. Hussam Hussein Wali (General Manager, South Refineries Company), professors, researchers, and engineers at Basra University and technical service departments in Basra Governorate.

The workshop in the first session included supervision of the opening session by the committee formed under the chairmanship of: Prof.Dr.Nuri Abdulnabi - Director General of the Center for Marine Sciences - Basra University and the membership of Prof. Aoun Diab Abdullah - Adviser to the Ministry of Financial Resources, Prof. Dr. Khaled Ajami Sukkar - University of Technology, Department of Chemical Engineering.

The second session included the supervision of working papers by the committee formed under the chairmanship of:Prof.Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed - University of Technology / Chemical Engineering Department - and membership of Prof. Murtada Raheef Ali - Director of Studies and Development / South Refineries Company - and Mr. Badi Abdullah - Director of Research and Development - General Company for Southern Fertilizers. A shield and appreciation certificate were received for each of Prof. Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed and Prof.Dr.Khaled Ajami Sukkar in appreciation of their efforts to participate in the workshop paragraphs and their participation in the membership of the scientific committee of the workshop

A teacher from the Department of Electrical Engineering gets an international prize

The teaching in the Department of Electrical Engineering Prof. Hanan Abdel-RedhaAkkar won the International Prize for International Assessment of Global Research published in discreet international journals from the publons.com website of the Clarivate Analytics for the year 2019, which is one of the global sites for academics to track and display their assessments and reviews of scientific research in magazines Sober Global Academic.

 The number of registered researchers on the site reached more than 2 million academic researchers for more than 100 countries and more than 7000 institutions and publishing houses from various countries of the world. This enables the academic and researchers to use their assessments and reviews as evidence of their position in their field of scientific specialization.

The President of the University visits the Environmental Research Center

The President of the University of Technology visited Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan El-Ghabban, the Center for Environmental Research at the university, where the Director of the Center, Prof. Abdel Hamid Mohamed Gawad, presented the most important scientific activities carried out by the center and the scientific plan for the academic year 2019-2020.

The President of the University commended the Center's efforts and the accomplishments achieved in the field of escalating the pace of scientific publishing in local and international scientific journals and the implementation of courses, training workshops and practical conferences, especially as the center is preparing to organize its fifth international scientific conference on environment and sustainable development.
