Asst.Prof.Dr.Aseel Bassim, a lecturer from metarials engineering department, has participated in Patent Exhibition which was held n Mashhad-Iran for her patent  "Coating drainage pipes for laboratories and pipelines for the transport of petroleum products with overlapping materials resistant to erosion supported by carbonate and some natural waste". The lecturer won the gold medal as the best patent with two certificates of appreciation for the medal and the poster.

The President of the University of Technology Prof. Dr. Ameen Douai Thamer awarded  the Head of Materials Department, Asst.Prof.Dr.Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghabban a thankful letter for his outstanding efforts in completing and disseminating research according to the mechanism of the University of Technology.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Jiwad Kadhim from Metarials Engineering Department at the University of Technology and Asst.Prof.Dr.Ahmed Niama from University of Missan-Engineering faculty have published a joint research  " Experimental and numerical investigation of lower limb prosthetic foot made from composite polymer blends" in the magazine "International journal of mechanical and production and production engineering research and development" Vol.8-2018.

The research dealt with Two types of polymer PMMA / SR and PMMA / PUR were mixed with carbon fiber CF and were prepared as a suitable material for the artificial foot of the lower limbs. The tensile properties were practically measured. The theoretical part of this work dealt with the angles of deformation. ANSY-15 to analyze and evaluate the tensile properties of total deformation and equivalent stress. The results showed that the effect on the measured properties gave the polymeric mixtures an optimum compound, which is the best choice for the artificial limbs of the foot limbs.

The Iraqi Association of Laser scientists has chosen Prof.Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahab, Head of the Laser and Optical Electronics Engineering department
 and Prof.Dr. Adawia Jumaa Haidar from the Applied Sciences Department    from the University of Technology as members in its Administrative Board.

Production and Metal Engineering Department at the University of Technology held a seminar for postgraduate students to discuss the course of students' research of the production engineering branch and the metal engineering branch and their percentage of achievement.

Their researches were discussed by the Graduate Studies Committee in the department and a number of teachers, and presented valuable interventions by the audience to evaluate the course of research by asking the scientific questions that are important and relevant in the aspects of their research.
