اقام قسم الهندسة المدنية حلقات نقاشية لطلبة الدراسات العليا " الدكتوراه " لفرع هندسة المياه والمنشاءات الهيدروليكية على قاعة المناقشات في القسم بحضورأ.م.د. محمود صالح مهدي رئيس فرع هندسة المياه والمنشاءات الهيدروليكية وعدد من اساتذة وطلبة الدراسات العليا في القسم  .

حيث نوقشت بحوثهم المنجزة وعرض فيها مداخلات قيمة من قبل الاساتذة لتقويم مسار البحوث من خلال طرح الاسئلة العلمية الدقيقة المهمة والمتعلقة بالبحوث والطلاب الذين القوا بحوثهم هم :

• ثابت محمد : optimal operation of reservoirs system for Tigris River upstream Tharthar lake
• حسن هادي : 3D modeling of ground water flow of the aquifers system in Iraq
• زهراء فاضل : experimental and numerical modeling of local scour around bridge structures
• علي محسن : simulation of runoff and sediment yield from the catchment areas of Tigris and Euphrates Rivers in Iraq using SWAT model
• عماد حبيب : safety assessment and optimum remedial measures for potential failures of gypseous soils in foundations of zoned dams
• لؤي كاظم حميد : modeling of hydraulic and morphologic characteristics in meandering sections of a river
