Student Noor Kazem Fahaid's thesis included the development of a prosthetic leg brace made of different compounds with the aim of making it affordable and convenient. Fifteen composite materials were used to manufacture a lower limb prosthesis. The base material consists of acrylic polymer and is reinforced with several layers of fibers (linen, sisal, cotton, carbon, glass and perlon). Several mechanical tests (tensile, compression, shock, bending, maximum shear stress, hardness, and weather erosion) as well as some physical tests (density and water absorption) were performed. In addition to the diagnostic test, infrared spectroscopy and morphological examinations (surface roughness) are used, as well as using the ANSYS-16 program to examine and evaluate the basic properties through the distribution of equivalent stress-strain curves, safety factor, and total deformation. Based on the results, the prosthetic socket could be an effective alternative that the participant can use comfortably and safely.
