The Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology holds a lecture on "Autophagy and Sustainable Health" Using the ZOOM platform

ithin the program of the cultural season of the Environmental Research Center for the academic year (2019-2020), Assistant Professor Basem Hashem Faraj-Lecturer at the Center for Sustainable Development dep. on Tuesday 12/5/2020 at 12:30 pm presented a lecture (remote using the ZOOM platform) Entitled "Autophagy and Sustainable Health". The lecturer explained that Autophagy can be defined as a natural regeneration process that occurs at the level of the cell in the body where the cells get rid of their damaged components (cytoplasm) or unnecessary such as harmful proteins and cells consuming and others and the process of renewing itself and producing energy on a regular basis to maintain its vital functions.

The concept of autophagy has taken an important place in recent research and studies where it is believed to be important in helping to reduce the incidence of some diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer's, diabetes, aging and others. Consequently, the researcher recommended the necessity of continuing solid scientific research in this field and providing material and technical support to researchers to reach the best results with regard to human health and its preservation within the framework of sustainable health.
