In The department of Petroleum Technology was founded in order to be one of the engineering departments at the university of technology and to supplement the oil and gas sector with specialized engineers in the  field of oil extractive industries. Currently the department includes a petroleum engineering branch and accepts the students in its four years studies of various basic and support sciences and in addition to the field training and scientific visits to oil sites in order to raise the level of the specialized engineering education. The department this year will receive the first group of  its master degree students. The department of petroleum technology is proud to have wide links with oil companies, research institutions, and local and international universities and in addition to the outstanding efforts to supply the department with the latest  specialized  equipments and educational  and research laboratories in order to be ready to receive first group of postgraduate students.
