Under the auspices of the university president Prof. Dr. Amin Douai Thamer, The activities department opened the University President football Cup championship festival for students on 17/11/2015 on the University playground and in the presence of the University Administrative Assistant Dr. Sami Abu Noon and head of the department Dr. Mohammed Jawad Saleh.

The opening included a review of the participating sports teams and the match between the applied sciences and building and construction teams, Computer Science and Electromechanical teams. The games matches were run by referee Ali Faraj and assistants Tawfiq Mohammed and Yasser Hassan and under the supervision of Mustafa Subhi.
