Within  the championship of university's president cup for football games, which is held annually to professors and members of the university, the petroleum technology department got third place in the Football Championship equally with the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, which was held on the University's Stadium on Thursday, 09/04/2015. The Cup was  handed  by  Dr. Sami Abu Noon , the president's Assistant for Administrative Affairs for the winning teams. In addition,  DR. Raed Naeem Huyen the Associate Head of Department for Administrative Affairs  received the Cup of the petroleum department team.

The team of the petroleum department was represented by the following employees: DR. Raed Naeem, DR. Ramsey Sehud, DR. Nadhim Anwar, Mr. Mohammed Ghazi, Mr. Nibras Fadhel, Mr. Omar Khalid, Mr. Saif Imad , Mr. Ahmed Saad, Mr. Haitham Taha, Mr. Mohammed Mohsen, Mr. Wesam Sabr, Mr. Ali  Anwar, Mr. Ali Fadel and Mr. Abdul Rahman  Arif.
