Electro mechanical engineering department grants MSC to the student Gasaq Mohamed Hussein for her thesis "Control and Analysis of Doubly Fed Induction Generator in Wind Turbine"
The researcher designed a model that simulates the horizontal axis wind turbine and a modern type of alternator called the dual-feed induction generator using the Matlab Simulink 2016 program. Two methods were used to control the variable wind speed to obtain constant voltage and frequency which is Space Vector Pulse Width Modulation , Field Oriented Control with PI Controller. The results showed the accuracy and effectiveness of the control methods used.
The discussion committee was chaired by Assc.Prof.Dr.Hisham Salem from university of technology and the membrane of Assc.Prof.Dr.Mohamed Abdul-Raaq- University of Technology and Assc.Prof.Dr.Hassan Fahad from University of Wasit-college of engineering –electricity department, Assc.Prof.Dr.Talib agaer and Assc.Prof.Dr.Ali Hussein as supervisors and both are from University of Technology.
