Computer Science Department Organizes Lecture on Women's Rights
The Computer Science Department at the University of Technology organized a lecture on women's rights and gender equality in cooperation with the Office of the Assistant University President for Scientific Affairs and Higher Studies - Human Rights Division, in the presence of the Director of Scientific Affairs and Cultural Relations in the Computer Science Department, Dr. Anmar Ali, in the late Dr. Emad Kazem Hall in the Computer Science Department building.
This lecture, held under the supervision of the Head of the Computer Science Department, Professor Dr. Alaa Kazem Farhan, comes to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals, Goal 5: Gender Equality, as all United Nations member states adopted the Sustainable Development Goals in 2015 to build more peaceful and prosperous societies by 2030.
The lecturer, Assistant Professor Dr. Rana Riad Khalil, defined the concept of women's empowerment so that they can face life's difficulties as an important factor in society, and how women can be leaders and have complete freedom to make their own choices. The Prime Minister's Office called for attention to women's empowerment by establishing women's empowerment units in ministries and institutions, conducting human resources courses for leaders without discrimination between women and men, placing them in leadership positions, and providing the requirements for establishing small projects to rely on themselves in facing life's difficulties.
The lecturer was presented with a certificate of appreciation in recognition of her efforts in giving this lecture.
