The Technological University holds its first national conference on combating violent ideological extremism
Under the patronage of the President of the Technological University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, the university held its first national conference titled "Combating Violent Ideological Extremism Leading to Terrorism." The conference was attended by the two assistant presidents for scientific affairs and postgraduate studies, Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Al-Khashan, and for administrative affairs, Farhad Mohammed Osman, as well as representatives from the Counter-Terrorism Service, Major General Salman Hashim Hussein, Professor Sabah Nouri, Director General of the National Security Service, Dr. Mohammed Abbas Al-Lami, Director of Counter-Extremism in the National Security Service, the heads of university departments, and many professors from various Iraqi universities, along with specialists and researchers in the fields of extremism and terrorism. The conference took place in the hall of the Department of Electromechanical Engineering.
The conference began with a speech from the President of the Technological University, Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, in which he clarified that the conference aimed to address the most urgent issues, starting from strategies to combat extremism, the security vision for countering it, and moving on to mechanisms of national cooperation and coordination in facing extremist ideologies, leading to the government's efforts in this regard to contribute to drawing a clear roadmap for combating extremism through scientific, well-studied methods.
