The Women's Affairs Unit in Continuing Education, in collaboration with the Department of Telecommunications Engineering, organizes a workshop on the effects of cyber violence directed against women

 

The Women's Affairs Unit in Continuing Education, in cooperation with the Department of Telecommunications Engineering at the University of Technology, organized a workshop titled (The Social and Psychological Effects of Cyber Violence Directed Against Women). The workshop was delivered by Dr. Huda Abbas Qanbar from the University of Baghdad, College of Islamic Sciences, in coordination with Asst.L. Asmaa Muhannad Saad from the Women's Affairs Unit in Continuing Education, and Assistant Professor Dr.Shaimaa Wael Noor Al-Din from the Women's Affairs Unit in the Department of Telecommunications Engineering, with the presence of a number of academic and administrative staff, as well as university students.

The workshop aimed to define cyber violence, discuss its forms directed against women, explain its causes, identify the women most targeted by cyber violence, and highlight the role of artificial intelligence programs in spreading it.

The workshop clarified that directed cyber violence has numerous harmful effects on the psychological and social well-being of women, which negatively impacts women and, consequently, society as a whole.

The workshop concluded by mentioning the most important measures to be taken to protect against cyber violence and avoid exposure to it.
