Mechanical Engineering Department Organizes a Field Trip for Fourth-Year Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Students

As part of its efforts to enhance the practical knowledge and field experience of fourth-year students in the Mechanical Engineering Department, the Refrigeration and Air Conditioning branch organized a field trip to the Platinum Baghdad Hotel, which is still under construction. The visit aimed to introduce students to modern Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF) cooling systems, which are among the latest technologies used in air conditioning. The tour included a look at the methods of equipping the hotel with these advanced systems, which are characterized by their high efficiency, ability to save energy consumption, and flexibility in air conditioning according to the requirements of different spaces. Students had the opportunity to interact with the engineers overseeing the project, as well as clarify details of system installation and maintenance, in addition to the challenges faced in implementing such large-scale projects. The visit showed a positive interaction from the students, who praised its importance in linking the theoretical aspect to practical applications. It is expected that this experience will contribute to better preparing students to enter the job market and develop their skills in the field of modern refrigeration and air conditioning systems. Such scientific activities reflect the University of Technology's commitment to providing a comprehensive educational environment that combines theoretical education and field training, thereby enhancing the efficiency and competence of its graduates in specialized engineering fields.
