Reviewing scientific success stories in the Entrepreneurship Week of the Chemical Engineering Department.
On the occasion of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, which was held at the University of Technology under the patronage of Professor Dr. Ahmed Mohammed Hassan Al-Ghaban, President of the University of Technology, and under the supervision of Professor Dr. Khawla Salah Khashan, Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, the Department of Chemical Engineering held the second session on entrepreneurship, during which it presented success stories of a number of scientific figures in the department by presenting the success stories of Professor Dr. Thamer Jassim Mohammed, Professor Dr. Qusay Fadel Abdul Hamid, and Professor Dr. Talib Mohammed Nayef.
The session was opened by Professor Dr. Khaled Ajami Sakr, Head of the Department of Chemical Engineering, with a speech in which he stressed the importance of entrepreneurship and embracing creative ideas in order to invest them and transform them into economic projects.
He explained that working in a team spirit is the secret to the success of any project in scientific and administrative life.
On the other hand, the department's professors reviewed their experiences in various aspects of life, stages of upbringing and family life, as well as functional aspects, primary and higher educational stages, career progression in various job positions, and the nature of obstacles, challenges and opportunities. In addition to reviewing the most important common success factors, which were represented by how to think in a scientific and systematic way, and keenness to acquire analysis and deduction skills, in addition to the combination of a group of internal and external factors, which can be described as success factors, the most important of which is respecting the time factor, as well as determination and persistence with endurance to achieve goals, while emphasizing that the presence of these factors in daily life ensures success as a sublime human value, requiring the efforts of other values of seriousness, diligence, perseverance and sincerity. It is worth noting that presenting these success stories comes in order to motivate students to benefit from successful scientific experiences and develop their capabilities to reach the desired success. The session was chaired by Dr. Buthaina Ali Abdul Ali, Head of the Technology Incubators Unit in the Department of Chemical Engineering.
