Professor Dr. Thamer Mohammed Jameel from the Department of Communications Engineering published a paper entitled "Digital Beamforming Enhancement with LSTM-based Deep Learning for Millimeter Wave Transmission" in the journal Open Engineering, which is indexed in both Scopus and Clarivate.
The research aimed to utilize AI networks, particularly deep learning, to enhance the radiation pattern of smart antenna arrays. It made significant contributions to the field of wireless communications, especially in millimeter wave transmission, by integrating digital beamforming techniques with deep learning. The research results showed that the LSTM model's training outcomes indicated:
- RMSE loss per mini-batch ranged from 11.47 to 295.93.
- Loss per mini-batch ranged from 65.8 to 43786.3.
These results demonstrate a downward trend and adaptability to the data. The enhancement was achieved by using 50 iterations, balancing the need for convergence while avoiding overfitting.
