Material Engineering Department Examines Dissertation
Material Engineering Department at University of Technology examined the dissertation entitled
“Study the effect of Embedding Modified Nanoparticles on the Performance of Polymeric Membranes in Wastewater Treatment” presented by the PhD’s nominee Asalaa Mohameed. The study aimed at to enhance the photocatalytic properties of titanium oxide nanoparticles, and thus improve the characterization and performance of the membranes, by modifying the titanium oxide nanoparticles with phosphoric acid and then incorporating them at different concentrations into polyether sulfone, polyvinyl chloride and polyvinyl difluoride membranes, then examining the characterization of the membranes and membranes. The results showed that the optimum value was reached at a concentration of (0.5%) of titanium oxide nanoparticles.
The examining committee was chaired by Prof.Dr. Adnan Abdul-Jabbar, and the membership of Prof.Dr. Akram Raheem, Prof.Dr. Khalid Morshid, Prof.Dr. Mohameed Osama and Asst.Prof.Dr. Hind Basil and, supervised by Prof.Dr. Khadim Turki and Prof.Dr. Qusay Fadhil. The dissertation was scientifically reviewed by Prof.Dr. Khalid Turki and Prof.Dr. Ahmed Abid Mohameed and linguistically reviewed by Lect.Dr. Ali Abdul-Kareem.
