Environmental Research Center holds synthesis of nanoparticles and silver seminar
As part of the activities of the cultural season, the Environmental Research Center at the University of Technology held a discussion panel entitled Synthesizing nanoparticles and silver using colocynth callus and studying their effect on the methylation patterns of the genes that make up biofilms in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The lecture was delivered by assistant L.Marwa Khaled Razzaq, in the presence of the teaching staff and employees of the center.
It showed how to treat Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria with silver nanoparticles, then analyze the methylation of the pslA and pslB gene promoters using bisulfite treatment, then MS-PCR, and that silver nanoparticles stop excessive methylation of the pslB gene promoter, which may explain the decrease in gene expression after treatment with these nanoparticles.
