University of Technology organize a scientific symposium

Under the auspices of the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Mohamed Hassan Al-Ghabban, and under the direct supervision of the Head of Electromechanical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Hisham Selim Anaid, the Energy Engineering Branch in Electromechanical Eng. Dep. held the scientific symposium tagged (National Engineering Program Accreditation, the International Accreditation Gate), on Tuesday, 28/2/2023.

UOT President gave a speech in which he stated that obtaining program accreditation is a basic indicator that the study program has met the highest standards of the Academy to graduate students who are ready to enter the fields of the labor market and are able to create, innovate and harness modern technology in order to provide the needs of welfare and safety.

And the head of the department indicated that the objectives of the symposium are to introduce the national engineering program accreditation granted and to introduce the profession of energy engineering as practicing engineers and consultants with prominent companies and institutions and to pursue postgraduate studies and research in research societies.

The symposium included one session chaired by Assist. Prof. Dr. Faraj M. Mohammed, rapporteur Prof. Dr. Ahlam L. Shreiji. It included two lecturers. The first was entitled (Keys of Programmatic Engineering Accreditation): The Successful Experience of the Energy and Renewable Energies Branch. The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Jalal M. Jalil, member of Iraqi Council for Engineering Accreditation, and the second was about (An overview of the council and the national standards for accreditation of engineering education) that delivered by Prof. Dr. Ziad S. Khalid, President of Iraqi Council for Accreditation of Engineering Education.
