Electromechanical Eng. Dept. Wins the University of Technology Football Championship for students

Electromechanical Eng. Dept. team won the University of Technology Football Championship for students for the academic year 2021-2022 after winning 4 goals over Electrical Eng. Dept. teams in the final match that took place at the University Stadium on Tuesday, Dec.14, 2021 in the presence of the Vice President for administrative Affairs/ Dr. Hussein H. Karim, a number of heads of Eng. Depts. at the university, the director of Student Activities Department, and a number of university lecturers  and students.

Electromechanical Eng. Dept. team inaugurated  the scoring in the first half by the player Ali Adnan, and the player himself scored  the second goal to electromechanical team minutes after the start of the second half, and only a few minutes passed until the player himself reinforced his team goals by scoring the third goal. Electromechanical goalkeeper Haider Ali concluded the goals festival by scoring the fourth goal from a penalty kick.

The  referee of the final match were each of  Walid Natiq and Eng. Ali Faraj, Yasser Hassan, Hussein Sareih, and the match supervisor, Asst. Prof. Dr. Emad Jasim.

The Vice- President  for Administrative Affairs distributed individual prizes to players of the first and second places, as well as prizes for the best player, Haider Sabah from Civil Eng. Dept.  and the tournament  top scorer, Mustafa Ali from Computer Sciences Dept.  with 8 goals, and the best goalkeeper Haider Ali from Electromechanical Eng. Dept. The team cups were also distributed to winning teams in the first places, which are Electromechanical Dept.,  the defending champion and the runner-up, Electrical Eng. Dept, and the third place for the teams of Civil Eng.Dept. and Control and Systems, and on the supporting departments in the tournament, which are Media andPublic Relations, The Divan Section, Follow-up Section and Services section.

Director of Student Activities Dept. Asst. Prof. Dr. Najah Salman, said that the tournament witnessed participation of 16 teams representing the scientific and Eng. Dept.  at the university, which was full of joy, excitement  with presence of  professors and students of the depts.
