Al-Ghabban participate in the International Scientific Conference on Autism Spectrum Disorder

Under the patronage of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Nabil Kadhim Abdel-Saheb, the President of the University of Technology, Prof. Ahmed Muhammad Hassan Al-Ghabban, participated on Thursday, 2/12/2021, in the Specialized International Scientific Conference on Autism Spectrum Disorder at the Palestine International Hotel, which was held by the Middle Technical University in the presence of Representative of His Excellency the Minister of Education, Prof. Dr. Yassin Muhammad Al-Ithawi, Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for Scientific Research Affairs, and under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Abdul-Mohsen Naji Al-Muhaisen, President of the Central Technical University, and in the presence of a number of university presidents, assistants, deans of colleges and institutes, and general managers in the relevant ministries.

The university opened its international specialized scientific conference on autism spectrum disorder for the second year of the Technical Medical Institute / Baghdad, which came under the slogan "Autistic children, energies, creativity, investment, Which highlights an important segment of society, autism spectrum children who have the potential to open the horizon of cooperation with the community and with their families to invest this segment to keep pace with the challenges and build a future that guarantees them a decent life and raise the level of community awareness and prepares them an essential and fruitful part of society.

22 papers and nine posters from various Iraqi, Arab and international universities, including Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Jordan, England, Malaysia and Canada, participated in the conference.

The conference came out with several recommendations, most notably:

• Expanding the establishment of a specialized governmental center for the care and rehabilitation of children on the autism spectrum, as well as supporting existing centers. 
• following-up of the civil autistic children’s care and rehabilitation centers, monitoring and follow-up of their programs and services, and the scientific qualifications of international teachers and trainers in them, and educating the community about the need to adopt positive trends towards disability and the disabled in general and autistic children in particular. 
• Financially supporting the families of autistic children, especially the poor ones.
• Supporting and encouraging civil society community organizations that concerned with autistic children.
• Inviting researchers and graduate students in the medical, psychological, and social and special education specializations to conduct research in the field of autism spectrum.
• Establishing a database on autistic children in Iraq.
• Going on holding this specialized medical conference periodically every two years.
• As well as other recommendations called for by the conference.

In conclusion, the President of the University of Technology was honored with the conference shield by the President of the Middle Technical University.
