University of Technology holds a workshop about the engineering program accreditation

 The Office of the Scientific Assistant at the University of Technology held a workshop on the engineering program accreditation on the conference hall in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, with the presence of the Assistant President of the University for Scientific Affairs and postgraduate Studies, Prof. Dr. Haider Abid Dhahed, heads of scientific and engineering departments and their assistants, managers, quality officials and members of the Iraqi Engineering Accreditation Council.

  The scientific assistant stressed the need to work on obtaining engineering accreditation for the university in its various scientific departments, indicating that accreditation is the gateway to reaching ranks in international classifications.

Prof. Dr. Khalil Ibrahim Mahmoud from the Department of Electromechanical Engineering at the university and a member of the Iraqi Accreditation Council pointed out in a lecture to him the importance of academic accreditation, both institutional and programmatic, adding that the University of Technology has the right to delve into obtaining these accreditations, especially as it has the largest share in engineering accreditation.

The lecturer in the Electromechanical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Jalal Muhammad, a member of the Iraqi Engineering Accreditation Council, gave a lecture on the experience of the Energy Branch in the Electromechanical Engineering Department and the requirements for obtaining Iraqi engineering accreditation.

The scientific assistant concluded by submitting a proposal to form an advisory committee dealing with the establishment of scientific departments and selecting a sample of them to start implementing the standards of the Iraqi Engineering Union.
