A Ph.D. student from UOT gain a patent
Lec. Qusay Jaafer Rasheed Al-Obaidi, Ph. D. student, one of the Chemical Eng. Dep. Faculty,
Who was sent to the United States - University of Missouri for Technology and Science in cooperation with his Supervisor Prof. Dr. Muthana Al-Dahaan has invented a new system through which pollutants such as heavy metals, hydrocarbons and radioactive minerals can be extracted from the water. It was found that the innovative system is ten times more efficient than the traditional systems. The new technology improves on the ELM method, a method that integrates the extraction and stripping of pollutants in water into a single stage through the addition of nanoparticles and ionic liquids. It is noteworthy that the innovative method was registered as a patent.
