ept. of Computer Engineering Holds Seminars for Postgraduate Students
Dept. of Computer Engineering at U.O.T. held seminars for postgraduate students (Masters) in the research stage, where the 2nd discussion was held by the student (Talah Uday Abdullah) about her research.
" Optimizing Dynamic VLAN Algorithm for SD-WAN "
Under the management of the scientific assistant Prof. Ahmed Sabah Al-Aaraji and the supervision of Lec. Dr. Ameer Musa Thuwaini, the session was attended by the head of the department, Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Jalil Hassan and the heads of the branches and a number of faculty members and graduate students in the conference hall of the dept.
The aim of this project is to employ dynamic VLAN in SD-WAN to improve quality of service, reduce broadcast domain, and improve average VLAN delay for a group of hosts in a dynamic manner. This is done by creating a design and implementation management algorithm by aggregating the network into an optimal set of VLANs. This application will be programmed using the MATLAB language and implemented and tested in the Mininet emulator.
The student (Rawa Ammar Razuqi) also discussed her research entitled:
"An enhanced Hybrid Cloud-edge Strategy for Smart Manufacturing"
Under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Hassan Jalil Hassan and Lec. Dr. Gheida Mutashar Abdul Sahib
Under the management of the scientific assistant, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sabah Al-Aaraji.
The aim of this study is to study the current edge and cloud algorithms of the smart manufacturing.
To reduce cost and delay and meet real-time requirements
And to improve intelligent manufacturing performance and production efficiency.
An improved hybrid cloud algorithm with lower cost and less delay has been proposed.
In the same session, the student (Sundus Suleiman Wali) discussed her research entitled:
"Improving Wireless Body Sensor Networks Performance based on Adaptive Compressive Sensing Techniques"
Under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Najm Abdullah.
The aim of this project is to build a healthy system that helps people get tested without going to the hospital by:
A realistic situation for a complex WBAN capable of navigating any shape to reduce power consumption using CS.
It is used for medical care to constantly monitor vitals, enabling better healthcare for them.
Then the student (Hassan Salam Abdul-Amir) discussed his entitled research:
" Development Smart Eyeglasses for Blind and Visually Impaired People Based on Deep Learning Algorithm"
Under the supervision of Asst.Prof. Dr. Hassan Jalil Hassan and Lec. Dr. Salma Hemidi Abdullah.
The aim of this project is to create smart glasses to help visually impaired people to identify things in front of them. This is done through a small camera placed on the glasses that takes pictures and sends them to a small device called Raspberry pi, where this device analyzes these images based on deep learning and a sound is generated to tell the visually impaired person about objects in front of them.
The session concluded with the discussion of the student (Duha Diaa Khudair) her research tagged:
"Security and Privacy Cyber Physical System with Wireless Sensor Network"
Under the supervision of Asst. Prof. Dr. Moayad Sadiq krook
The aim of the project is to achieve security and privacy of cyber-physical system. Where achieving ever-increasing quality of service requirements on the current Internet is a source of great concern, as the existing networks are unable to provide these requirements. Therefore, it was necessary to use better alternative solution, which is the SD-WAN, as it has capabilities that enable it to exploit smart applications to manage the network in a dynamic manner according to the change Service requirements you provide.
This includes two aspects:
The 1st aspect includes how to detect and prevent electronic attacks on these systems, such as a denial-of-service attack that causes system failure and disruption.
The 2nd aspect is protection and encryption of data exchanged between the components of the system to ensure the confidentiality, integrity and privacy of the cyber-physical system.
