Chemical Engineering Department hold a seminar for postgraduate students

Within the cultural season of the first semester of the Chemical Engineering Department, held an online session for postgraduate students (PhD) / thesis for the student Nada Mahdi entitled:

(Separation process Pervaporation technique, modeling and simulation study for azeotropic mix purification)

The student explained the goal of the research is to use the pervaporation process to separate azeotropic mixtures, especially alcohol-water systems, which are difficult to separate using the traditional separation process such as the traditional distillation process, in order to reduce the cost of the separation process and the energy consumed by traditional separation methods. Pervaporation is also an Eco-friendly method as it does not need to add hazardous chemicals to break down azeotropic mixtures and does not cause heat dissipation. In addition, pervaporation can prevent the release of hazardous waste to the environment.

The seminar attended by the Head of the Chemical Engineering Department, Prof. Dr. Jamal Maneh Ali Al-Rubaie and a group of the department's Lecturers.
